A Holiday Event You Won’t Want to Miss Near Annapolis: Lights on the Bay 2015

November 16, 2015

You've been to a drive-thru, and you've seen holiday lights, but have you ever combined the two experiences? That's exactly what to expect during Lights on the Bay, a drive-thru holiday light show that takes place at Sandy Point State Park!

Presented by the Anne Arundel Medical Center, this annual event, which returns for its 21st year on Nov. 21, transforms a two-mile-long stretch of road parallel to the Chesapeake Bay into a magical winter wonderland. In nautical and colonial themes, more than 70 lighted displays — both stationary and animated — are positioned alongside the road, delighting car-fulls of locals as they drive by.

With proceeds benefiting the Anne Arundel Medical Center, Lights on the Bay charges an entry fee of $15 per car, $30 for large vans, and $50 per bus. Make note, Annapolis: A military discount will reduce the admission fee to $7 per car on Tuesday, Dec. 1, and on Thanksgiving Day, the event will feature a special appearance by Santa Claus! Don't forget to purchase 3D glasses for a small additional charge!
