Support the Special Olympics and Have Some Winter Fun Near Annapolis at the Cool Schools Plunge 2016
January 25, 2016
Looking for something fun and philanthropic to do this weekend near Annapolis? Now that the holidays are through, do some good for the rest of the community by participating in the Cool Schools Plunge 2016.
This family-friendly event is a part of the longtime Polar Bear Plunge tradition, and it raises money for the Special Olympics Maryland by inviting local high school teams to take the plunge into the freezing Chesapeake Bay. Schools from around the Annapolis area will assemble teams and have their own special day to raise money for the cause. Each team member pays a flat rate to participate, and all of the money goes toward the Special Olympics. Students range in age from kindergarten to twelfth grade, and all area residents are invited to come out to Point State Park to cheer them on as they plunge.
To contribute to the cause yourself, simply head online to the Polar Bear Plunge site and sponsor a plunger of your choice!
